For over 100 years genealogists have relied on vital micrographic records to aid them in their research. While many resources are available digitally, millions of images remain only on microfilm. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been actively gathering, preserving, and sharing genealogical records on microfilm worldwide. It now provides a way to freely search millions of records, create a family tree, and preserve and share your family story. Today this includes free access to your own free online Internet account and content archive through FamilySearch.org, a tremendous online resource.
By becoming a certified partner of FamilySearch, ST Imaging is taking the ease and power of the ST ViewScan Digital Microfilm System to streamline microfilm research for genealogical purposes. Simply view the microfilm records and find images of family photos, records, documents and family stories. Click to capture each one in about a second, and place all of them in our unique Image Bin. They are automatically enhanced, cleaned up and ready to add to your online archive. Now just select FamilySearch as the destination for your documents, and enter your user credentials. Without having to exit the ST ViewScan program, or log in to the FamilySearch program website, all of the selected images are immediately placed in the proper format, and uploaded to the appropriate destination file folder of the family tree. The FamilySearch feature is included exclusively with the ST ViewScan Premium Software at no additional cost to the institution or the users of ST ViewScan Digital Microfilm Systems.
