ST Imaging Raises the Bar for Film Scanner Software
— New ViewScan® software enhancements streamline scanner use —
NORTHBROOK, IL, December 21,, 2010 – Local manufacturer and International distributor ST Imaging, a division of Digital Check Corp., and a leading manufacturer and reseller of digital microfilm scanners, today announced major enhancements to its ViewScan software platform. ViewScan is ST Imaging’s leading microfilm, microfiche and aperture card scanning device that can be operated either locally or remotely via a web interface. Included with each ViewScan is ST Imaging’s proprietary software that allows users to capture and manipulate the images for easier reading, retention, and representment.
Included among the new features of the ViewScan software is Image Straighten, a feature that makes deskewing a literal snap. Now, to straighten a skewed image, the user simply drags across the page or image, releases the mouse button and the image is automatically deskewed. This command can be repeated for multiple images or automated for multiple images on a roll with the same degree of skew. “This is the easiest deskewing process on the market and will save users a tremendous amount of time and effort for our customers,” said Dan Donaldson, director of imaging products for ST Imaging.
In addition to the Image Straighten feature, ST Imaging is also introducing its Scissor Cut™ feature which provides intelligent cropping and masking capabilities, allowing users to capture only needed information from each image. These new elements join a growing list of industry leading functions offered by ST Imaging software, including: roaming desktop network support, an easier to use magnify function, automatic file backup and recovery, and advanced support for over a dozen languages.
