It is a great time for genealogy enthusiasts in Robeson County. A new microfilm reader will make its home in our very own Hoyland Livermore Jennings Genealogy Room. The ST ViewScan III System comes equipped with a 14 megapixel, USB 3.0 camera to provide crisp images from our collection.
The controls are similar to traditional microfilm readers and are simple to use. Through partnerships with OCLC andFamilySearch, the new machine comes with more ways to share your information through email, Google Drive, and Dropbox accounts.
LED Light and a crystal-clear glass field improve image accuracy. A convenient USB port will be available to save files. The ST ViewScan III, paired with a 27-inch monitor, is replacing two existing, outdated microfilm machines. A more functional research table will be provided, as well.
The Friends of the Robeson County Public Library is funding these upgrades, which will make their appearance this spring.
